- History Of NWRCCC Inc. -

NWRCCC Inc. was established in late 2007 to bring organized racing to the North-West Tasmanian area. The club was formed by a small group of people who were interested in RC racing and wanted to have a dedicated track and facility to showcase the fun and excitement in the area. Since the beginning of NWRCCC Inc. the club an track have provided a top-level facility, friendly atmosphere, and amazing competition. The club is quickly outgrowing the current location with turnouts and competition levels beyond expectations. The club has decided to seek a bigger an better location and the Bendigo Bank Arena has offered a location on one of their other public areas to host our facility, with further talks between Bendgio Bank Arena & NWRCCC Inc. to secure this area for the club it is still in the process with a lot of red-tape to be worked through before approvel can be given, then hopefully the new facility can be built an evolve to become truly one of the top facilities in Australia.

The current location has seen many different layouts come and go over the years, but the current track and facility has continued to provide some of the best off-road racing in Tasmania. By hosting our track in a public park, we have been able to provide the opportunity for enthusiasts to use the facility free during park hours which gives plenty of opportunity to practice, learn, and enjoy the hobby. Organized club race meetings are held once a fortnight (official calendar). NWRCCC Inc. offers racing for nitro (petrol) powered cars and trucks of all scales except 1/5th unfortunately. Our race program consists of 3 x 5min qualifiers and a 15-30min main event per class. Participants come from all over the state and range from children to company executives. Club racing offers some of the best tracks, drivers, and competition available on a fortnightly basis while providing a friendly atmosphere for people to learn and enjoy the hobby.

The RC Industry and RC Racing has enjoyed a steady increase in popularity and recognition over the last decade which hopefully will bring corporate sponsorship, teams/drivers, media coverage, and excitement in the industry. In future years NWRCCC Inc. would like to be proud to host many "National" & "State" events which would bring racers from all over the country to our facility. These types of events are held every year and have become a standard in the industry, organized under the rules of sanctioning body AARCMCC. NWRCCC Inc. wish to host some of these events which will draw hundreds maybe even thousands of people to our facility for a two to four day racing event. Some of these events are now even being covered on TV, live feeds over the internet and also broadcast live on the radio offering continued growth for the industry and club.

NWRCCC Inc. looks forward to continuing to provide a top-level facility, competitive racing, and friendly atmosphere for enthusiasts and spectators to enjoy. The many recent facility improvements and upgrades have been made to prepare for the continued growth of the hobby and allow the club to provide one of the best environments for competitive racing in the state.
